Beginning October 19. 2021, we will have a new friend in Walt Disney World theme parks- Disney Genie Service. Disney Genie Service is just one of 3 services launching. There will also be Genie+ and Individual A La Carte options. All 3 services can be accessed through your My Disney Experience App & are designed to help you maximize your time in the park. You can use 1, 2, all or none of these services. It is up to you what you want to utilize. Disney GenieDisney Genie Service is complimentary & intended to be a personal day optimizer, helping you navigate the park like a pro. This will be done utilizing a personalized tip board as well as a day planner that updates in real time as you go about your magical day. When you are unsure what to do next, you can check these tools for suggestions. Once your vacation package is linked & park passes are made, we can begin your onboarding process for Disney Genie. More details to come about how to let Genie know what you want built into your perfect park day. There will be more details about this onboarding process in the coming weeks Lightning LaneLightning Lanes are LOCATIONS within the park where you can purchase access. Their locations may feel very similar to the retired FastPass locations. Lightning Lanes provide expedited attraction access (or a shorter wait times) to over 40 attractions across all 4 Disney Theme parks. The list above is what it will look at when it launches, but you can check back on Disney’s Lightning Lane Website if anything changes ahead of your trip. To purchase access Lightning Lanes, you will use 1 or 2 services- Genie+ and Individual a la carte Lighting Lane Attractions. Genie+ will be for MOST attractions that have a Lightning Lane. Individual passes will be available for 2 rides per park that are not Included with Genie+. It should be noted that you can still ride all of these attractions without purchasing added services using the traditional standby line or virtual queues. You are simply paying if you want to utilize the Lightning Lane for attractions OR want to guarantee a ride on an attraction utilizing a virtual queue.
Genie +Disney Genie+ will be available at a fixed price of $15 per person for an entire day & will help you schedule return times for the Lightning Lane for select attractions (up to one time per attraction.) You will have the option to purchase Genie+ for the entire length of your park ticket ahead of your trip OR purchase it in your My Disney Experience App the day you plan to use it if you only want it on select days. In addition to scheduling return times for the Lightning Lane of select attractions, you will also receive photopass AR lenses to use throughout the park & Audio Tales. Audio Tales are like having a self guided tour with fun details about the parks. You will NOT pre-select your Genie+ Lightning Lane return times ahead of your trip. You will do this the day you are going to the park. Full details on HOW to do this as well as some tips on how to use it will be coming. Disney Genie+ will not sell out & can be added at any point in your park day if you choose not to add it in advance. Individual a la carte Lightning LaneThere will be 2 attractions at each park that have a Lightning Lane that are NOT a part of Genie+. The Lightning Lane return times for these attractions will be available for individual purchase. These are NOT fixed price & these are limited in quantity. The pricing samples we have seen have rides priced $7-$15 per person. These can only be purchased the day of use. There is not an advanced purchase option at this time & guests will be limited to 2 Individual Attraction passes per day. This option will be best utilized if there is an attraction that you absolutely cannot miss & do not want to wait in the standby line or miss a spot in the virtual queue. Should you use these services?That is the big question. I absolutely think you should use the complimentary Disney Genie Service. It is going to be such a great asset to you as you navigate the parks. Whether you want to use the customized “My Day” tab or simply use the Tip Board as new recommendations pop up in real time as the park, crowds & waits shift, you will love this tool. It’s the next best thing to having me travel in your pocket & direct you on what to do next. I also think Genie+ is going to enhance your trip. It is going to help you maximize your park time in a huge way. Saving time in Iine means you have time to see more, experience more & even rest more. Individual Attraction Passes are more subjective. If you are willing to wake up early to get to attractions or stay late when lines are shorter, these may not be as necessary. You can add Genie+ services to your entire ticket or vacation package for arrival October 20th & later beginning October 19th. If you only want Genie+ some days or for some members of your party, it will be your responsibility to purchase it in app each day you want to use it. Don't forget to pin this post for later.
